It's that time of year again...it's Black Friday

So it's the day after Thanksgiving and after our belly is full and we've stuffed ourselves with turkey and pumpkin pie, what do we do? Get up at 3:00 a.m. to go shopping!? It's not for us, but millions of people do it every year and maybe their opinion even a "holiday". Ever wonder where the term "Black Friday" came from? According to Wikipedia.com, "Black Friday" came from the reference to the heavy traffic and hustle and bustle of shopping on the day after Thanksgiving, just like the extremely stressful and chaotic experience of Black Tuesday (the 1929 stock-market crash). It was first labeled "Black Friday" in 1965. But don't be fooled "Black Friday" is NOT the busiest shopping day of the year! What is? The Saturday before Christmas. Happy Shopping to all!

Posted On Nov 19, 2008 in . There are comments.

It was a bit startling to see snow falling the other day, and actually staying on the ground! Well according to the farmers almanac we're only in for more. Here's the long range forecast for our region:

After a mostly mild November, snow at Thanksgiving will signal the coming of a very cold period, especially in the west. Temperatures will seesaw from January through March. Precipitation will generally be below normal, with above-normal snowfall in the southwest (this is us:() and below-normal snowfall in most other parts of the region. The coldest periods will occur in December, early and mid-January, and in early and mid-February. The snowiest periods will be in early and mid-December, early to mid-January, early February, and early March. April and May will have above-normal temperatures and below-normal precipitation, with hot temperatures in mid-May. Summer temperatures will be near or slightly above normal, on average, with below-normal rainfall. The hottest temperatures will occur in early and mid-June and mid-July. September and October will be cooler and drier than normal.

Meet Quinn! Quinn has been coming to our studio ever since he was only a couple months old. He's now grown into a stylish little dude. We always tell his parents, Brett and Jen, when they bring Quinn in that he's one of our best dressed!
